MAYJUNE and EDNA- Campervan Tour

Nomadically moving between London, Cornwall and Brazil, Edna’s music is folky, meditative and soulful. She finger-picks the guitar and repetition makes for trance-like states whilst she sings about everything that makes her feel deeply - love, loss, nature, pain, joy, the universe. The music has a nostalgic and philosophical undercurrent that might leave you pondering.

MAYJUNE is an alternative folk singer songwriter hailing from southeast London. She writes reflective whimsical ballads about the failings of society and lines her music with glimmers of humour & wit through winding melody. She is set to release her second EP ‘Bon Bons’ late October.

Starting at 7pm in the Apple Barn

The Bar and venue will be open from 6:30pm

Chyan Apple Tree Sangha

We meet monthly on a Sunday morning in Chyan Apple Barn.
Suggested donation £5

We generally begin with a period of sitting meditation, sometimes
silent and sometimes guided.  If you use a meditation cushion or stool,
please bring this with you.  You may also want to bring a yoga mat,
shawl or blanket.

Sitting practice is followed by a period of silent walking meditation
or movement practice. This is either inside or outside depending on the
weather.

Another shorter period of silent sitting follows. We will then share a
reading or an audio recording of dharma teaching or explore an exercise
ourselves, and read the five mindfulness trainings aloud, together.

We end with a period of ‘Dharma sharing’ where we share from the heart, and practise deep listening.

Sangha is rooted in the teachings of the Buddha and we welcome people
from any, or no, faith background. Whatever our beliefs we come
together in the spirit of compassion and a desire to live fully and
completely in every moment of our lives.

Chyan Apple Tree Sangha has grown from 4 main roots:
1. Plum Village www.plumvillage.org
2. Gaia House www.gaiahouse.co.uk
3. Tarchin Hearn www.greendharmatreasury.org
4.The Crystal Group www.crystalgroup.co.uk

We would love you to join us in our meditation practice.

Clowning for Wellbeing

Step into a space where laughter, play, and connection take centre stage. This workshop uses the art of clowning — along with comedy, games, and gentle performance techniques — as a fun and powerful way to support mental health and wellbeing.

You don’t need any experience in theatre or comedy to join in. Clowning is all about embracing your natural playfulness, finding joy in the moment, and learning to see mistakes as opportunities. Through interactive games and group activities, you’ll discover tools to release stress, build confidence, and connect with others in a light-hearted, supportive environment.

Whether you’re looking for a creative outlet, a boost to your mood, or simply a chance to step away from the everyday and enjoy some silliness, this class is for you. By the end, you’ll feel refreshed, uplifted, and reminded of how good it feels to laugh.

Come as you are — and leave with a lighter heart.

Swamp Circus Presents: Rakker Storytelling Festival at Chyan Cultural Centre

20th September 2025

Swamp Circus is delighted to announce its Rakker Storytelling Festival, a celebration of circus arts, puppetry, and storytelling, taking place at the Chyan Cultural Centre on the 20th September 2025.

This family-friendly festival will bring together performers, puppeteers, and storytellers in an exciting programme of workshops, stories, and world-class shows.

Daily Festival Schedule:
• 12:00pm – Café Open
• 1:00pm – Circus Workshop
• 2:00pm – Swamp Story Time
• 3:00pm – Guest Performance:

THE MISADVENTURES OF THOR

THOR! Tall…brave…strong…but none too bright. Sometimes his days are not always full of heroic thunder, but instead are filled with hapless blunder!

Like the day he was almost married to an oafish giant. Or when he thought he was shortchanged as the golden presents were handed out. And then there was the time he had to be rescued by his own son, Magni, who was only three days old!

These ancient Nordic tales are brought to you by Ulf and Odd, two skalds, or storytellers, in a comedic romp through the life and times of the Viking gods.

Rattlebox and Angel Heart Theatre present this family show with their usual flair for skilfully blending puppetry, storytelling and larger-than-life characters into a performance full of wonder and delight! SKOL!

“What an incredible show for myself and my two kids. Thoroughly engaging, exciting, funny, and educational, with Viking 'factoids' scattered throughout. Absolutely gorgeous hand carved puppets. The set created such and inviting scene too, we all gathered around in anticipation. We loved being able to come up and meet the puppets and puppeteers afterwards. Just brilliant!”  - audience member at Green Scythe Fair

Tickets: Available via Ticket Source.
• Full Day: £16
• Show Only: £10
• Concessions Available

The Swamp Circus Storytelling Festival promises a weekend of laughter, wonder, and circus magic for audiences of all ages.

We will introduce and explore new ways of bringing mindfulness into our day, not only in meditation, but also in how we eat, behave, speak to ourselves and others, and take care of ourselves.

Vegan Camp UK

Vegan Camp is a friendly and enjoyable annual social gathering for singles, couples and families. Each year we choose a new location with people coming to stay for day visits all the way up to the full two weeks.
For the past 42 summers, a group of vegans (and those willing to be vegan for at least the duration of the camp) have met at numerous venues throughout the country.
We usually have between 80 to 120 people camping, many of us have been coming for 20 years and more, whilst others are more recent members.

We are a diverse group whose ages range from babies up to those in their 80’s, with singles, couples and families attending. Some people come every year. Some come when we are in their area.

What is consistent is the friendly, helpful and fun atmosphere at our camps. . We have many children attending each year and it is an ideal time for them to meet other vegan children. Children and adults too form many friendships at the camp.

Looking forward to meeting you at the campsite …

Vegan Camp is a Not For Profit group run by unpaid volunteers. https://vegancampuk.org/
